Seapods

Seapods is a collection of vase like sculptures inspired by seaweed. This body of work presents a key element to the ocean environment and specifically to a species in the west coast of the United States. Throughout Californian shores large clumps of seaweed would wash up on the beaches which usually brought a strong smell and unpleasant sensation, with the recent climate change the oceanic flora has been crippled and therefore even more beaches are being covered with seaweed.

These pieces are meant to bring light and appreciation to the importance that oceanic flora plays in our world and balancing and sustaining carbon sequestration. Creating lasting pieces that show the beauty and delicate qualities of these essential organism that are part of our ecosystem.
